Angels Montessori School
Angels Montessori Preschool is celebrating over 23 years of building educational foundation of children in our community. We put only the best into them so that so they can go out and make our city great a better place to live. Therefore AMS tries to remain the number one Montessori school in East San Francisco Bay Area.
The school was dedicated to the social, physical, and educational development of young children. We accomplish this by providing the finest fully certified Montessori teachers, not assistants, to run the classrooms. In addition AMS utilizes the proven Montessori Method to educate children. This ensures each element of the whole child at their own pace. The school’s main goal is to foster the whole child to their full potential.
Accreditation
Angels Montessori School is a member of the American Montessori Society AMS. In addition to our affiliation with AMS, we are also licensed by the State of California.
Angels Montessori School is also a 5-star QRIS (Quality Rating Improvement Scale). This score is given by the Contra Costa board of education and California First 5 program.

A Little About Our Programs
Preschool Program (ages 2 – 4 years)
Our Preschool classes are for children ages 2 – 4. We offer morning classes (8:45am – 11:45am), afternoon classes (3pm – 6pm) and a school day program (9am – 3pm), before / after care 7am -6pm, 2, 3 or 5 days a week. The children are introduced sequentially to the following five areas of the prepared environment: practical life, sensorial, language, math, and cultural. Self-esteem, concentration skills, and good work habits are developed as a result of this environment.
Kindergarten Program (ages 5 – 6 years)
The Kindergarten program at AMS provides the five-year old with a unique kindergarten experience. It involves a morning Primary class with mixed-ages and an afternoon class. The children, in the afternoon class, continue to use extensions of the Montessori materials, which are introduced in the morning class. Kindergarten program children improve their reading level, work on penmanship, math skills, spelling words, and sight words are introduced. Optional homework packets are added to this program. This enhances their ability to develop concentration and complete more challenging work.
The extended part time program at AMS serves as a natural continuation for children attending our Primary classes and is fully accredited by the California State Department of Education, is a full member school that is being guided by participation in the American Montessori Society’s Pathway of Continuous School Improvement.
We offer morning classes (8:45am – 11:45am), afternoon classes (3pm – 6pm) and a school day program (9am – 3pm), before / after care 7am -6pm, 2, 3 or 5 days a week. This program allows for continuity in the development of good work habits, social skills and scholastic skills begun in earlier years.
Working alone or in small groups, with direction from staff with a high adult-to-student ratio, the children progress at their own natural pace. The skills of reading, writing, science and arithmetic are stressed. However, the program is broad based covering many areas of interest.
Before/Aftercare Program (Full Time Program) (ages 2 – 6 years)
All of the above programs can be supplemented with before and after care. We are open from 7 AM – 6 PM. Children in this program attend two Montessori class each day. Before and after class, they participate in early childhood activities, such as free play, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
